The Egyptians built hundreds of temples for their gods. It was part of their religion. They believed that the temples were the homes of the KAs of the gods and goddesses. The Egyptians had a powerful belief in their gods, and pleasing them would keep Egypt from destruction. Tributes of gold, silver, and other precious minerals were made to the temples as offerings to the gods. Other offerings such as ducks, fruit, and incense were also offered, but there were of course hundreds of things that could be used as offerings. The pharaoh and priests were the "speakers" of the gods, which meant that they were the links to Egypt and the Afterlife.
